DISCUSSION SUNDAY; VILLIANS

The Horror movie genre has been in existence for a long time now dating back to 1896 when the very first horror movie was made. This genre has given rise to box office franchises like; The Halloween, The Conjuring, Annabel, Chucky, Saw, Nightmare on Elm street, IT etc. With every horror movie comes a villian- be it a psychotic killer, a malevolent Spirit, a possessed doll or a dancing clown.

Today we'll be discussing villains.

The turns in the The Turning

The horror movie genre is one of the most successful genre in the movie industry. Scary endings and suspense filled scenes have carved a niche and are not going anywhere anytime soon.     Inconclusive endings are not new to the genre but some endings are indeed too inconclusive.The turning is a 2020 horror movie which held a lot of scare factors but failed to land at a significant point.      With little similarities to The Boy 1, a young lady decides to tutor an orphaned little girl at their manor but is met with circumstances she could have never prepared for.         The whole story started out quite well -the creaking doors, the shadows, the nightmares and then there was an addition of the creepy behaviour given off by Miles, the brother of Flora.      The major flaw in the movie was the absence of a definitive conclusion, too many questions were left unanswered- Is Kate insane? Is Miles truly posses...

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

Okay. I absolutely adored this movie. I'm a sucker for games and movies. So when game characters are incorporated into movies so perfectly, I get all giddy. Cast Ben Schwartz,James Madsen, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Lee Majdoub. The redesign was totally worth it, even though it cost more money, it paid off. Spoilers ahead.        I've watched different sonic cartoons and also played the game, but the movie was a hit. A blue alien hedgehog leaves his own planet because people want to use his powers..He comes to Earth-Green hill to be specific and spy's on all the neighbors, particularly the sheriff whom he calls "Donut Lord". But as it is with lending assistance to strangers, trouble always follows.      Lemme start with the voicing for sonic. Ben Schwartz was pretty impressive in his voicing, sounding like a young boy and portraying how their mind works.  Sheriff Tom (Madsen) was cool. Not so serious and not so unserious. Hi...
