Movie Review: Moonshot

Well, well, well, would you look at Mars. I've been craving a romance movie for a while now and when I saw the trailer for Moonshot, I was like, yes. Finally! Something to see.  Yeah, maybe not so much happiness after all. Movie Plot Following the evolution of earth in 2049 where Mars is now habitable and a plane ticket cost $950,000, two teenagers struggle to come to their reality. While one longs to go to Mars because he doesn't feel at home on earth, the other misses her boyfriend and decides to go and join him. With so many dreams on the line, the two of them explore their fantasies. Okay. Where do I start from? Seeing Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse gave me so much happiness. You just have to love those two because of their individual performance in so many other movies. Case in point: Riverdale and To All The Boys I've Loved Before. I didn't have any expectations aside from seeing both of them together.  The storyline was pretty normal. You know, those re

Movie Review: Death On The Nile

What a movie! I'm a stickler for investigative crime movies: Knives Out, Sherlock Holmes, Upper Room Fixer series, Enola Homes, etc. Trying to solve the crime with the detective as his mind wanders through a  plethora of unusual suspects is just amazing to me and so you can understand why Death On The Nile was so intriguing. Movie Plot Detective Hercule Poirot (This surname needs some work) is back with murder within a murder within a murder within two more murders. While on a visit to Egypt, Poirot uncovers his greatest murder ever as a newlywed couple battles the envious eyes of friends and foe. Okay, so that happened. The movie uses an hour to drive us through what Poirot already tagged as acts 1, 2 and 3. We get to see Linnet shine and fall in love with her friend's man. Linnet First off, this was really low for Linnet. Come on already. Men are surplus and in quanta. She could have been with the doctor or found another one, but she opted for her friend's man.  Why woul

Movie Review: The Adam Project

"Oh, that's funny. It farts when I laugh." I just can't.😂🤣🤣 Halo. Another movie review here. We'll be looking at The Adam Project. Movie Review A pilot goes back in time to search for his missing wife in so doing enlists the help of his younger self and his late father. From the first time I saw the trailer I knew I would laugh my ass out. Ryan Reynolds has decided to just feature in any movie he absolutely feels like. Storyline Let's start with the not-so spectacular part of this movie. The storyline wasn't excitingly crazy. It was there. Just there. Time travel with a blend of romance missions, messing with the timeline, embracing loss, and a happy beginning at the end. That pretty much sums it up. The good part is that it was grand. The action, the shooting, the comedy. Acts Ryan Reynolds was Ryan Reynolds and there's no changing him. The way he talks and laughs and just includes those ridiculous lines always has me in a g

Movie Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre

What's up with young people trying to gentrify old ghost towns? Almost every horror movie, aside from a few, have young people wandering to the wrong places—unlike Scream where the horror comes to meet you at home. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the latest in the horror movie slasher and it didn't fail to check every horror formula. Movie plot It's 50 years since the last massacre and it looks like the town is back to normal, that is, until a group of friends decide to turn the town into a hippie spot with book shops, art shops, restaurants, etc. They embark on a trip to Harlow and when they wrongfully evict an occupant from an orphanage home, things take a turn for the worst. Spoilers ahead So, where do we begin? Let me start with a general caution. Before you evict someone from their home, be absolutely sure you're on the right. Dante was feeling all high and mighty like he was really trying to achieve something spectacular, but turns out the weir

Movie Review: A Madea Homecoming

Madea is back! Hallelujer! After the Madea Family Funeral we thought we had seen the last of this iconic screen character, but 2022 has given us a reason to laugh out loud. Movie Plot Madea's Homecoming surrounds the family getting together for Madea's great grandson's graduation ceremony. As expected when the Madea clan comes together, secrets are revealed and chaos the order of the day. Spoilers ahead First off, Madea is a great grandmother. Not grand. Great grand. That's three generations alive in the clan. How old exactly is Madea? Did she take some vampire blood?  Back to serious issues? What type of best friend helps her best friend divorce her husband and then fall in love with the best friend's husband to the extent of wanting to get married to him. That's wrong on so many levels. Especially if you include the fact that she was the attorney in charge of the divorce and the douche bag got everything from the divorce. Babe! She freaking broke e

Movie Review: Love Hard

Love is hard! I don't know why I've been sleeping on this movie. Oh, wait. I do know. It came out around the same time as a gazillion romantic movies did and I was not having it. Well, I decided to see it now and it was surprisingly good.  Movie plot Nat is a young attractive lady who's in search of love. She's been matched so many times on a dating app, but has always drawn the short straw. When she finally gets the match of her life, she flies to surprise him for Christmas and gets the surprise of her life. Spoilers ahead Okay. This movie had the ingredients of typical romantic cliches to the T. Every element was present and then some.  Formula Boy and girl meet. Girl doesn't like the boy because he lied. Girl falls for someone else and realizes the boy is the one. By then the boy is hurt and the girl didn't realize how much he loved her. Girl comes back with a grand romantic apology. Movie ends. Question, though. Do people really travel halfway ac

Movie Review: All of Us Are Dead

Phew! I don't know where to begin. I really don't. What a rollercoaster. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Korean movies. What I mean is that I don't go online specifically looking for anything Korean to watch, but you see this one? I had to. Hmmm. It happened to me the way Squid game happened to me and I must commend the directors and all the cast. Those kids were amazing. Enough gist. Lets dive right into the matter. Movie Plot While trying to make his son courageous against bullies, a science teacher accidentally creates the Jonas Virus. A zombie virus that kills the host and takes over the human senses (regular zombie stuff). The virus starts with his son and wife, which he's able to contain, but when a student gets bitten by an infected rat, pandemonium breaks out in school as students of Hyosan turn on each other. Massive spoilers ahead. And I mean massive ones! I took out time this weekend to watch this because I love horror with all my heart. Plus, if y
