Movie Review: FREE GUY

Gaming is a habit many of us take up to pass time and relax. Some of us like to play Candy crush and Candy soda, while others prefer the violent ones like Grand Theft Auto, Miami Vice, Deadly target, etc. We also have those who combine both worlds. Case in point: me.

Don't get confused. 
Free Guy isn't a video game. It's a movie about a video game and it's involvement with reality.

PLOT
An NPC (Non Playable Character) evolves beyond being non-playable to actually becoming the hero of his city. He develops feelings, emotions and changes the path of all those who come his way. On another end, we have two friends who want to take down the guy who stole their game idea.

When both goals meet, every party involved must take a stand to fight together for what each wants.

That's enough.
I'm tempted to keep going. 

MOVIE PROPER
The whole movie—which ran for almost two hours—had me invested from the first scene until the very last cast. 

Not every movie can do that to me, but this did.

Reynolds displayed an entirely different side of him. Well, not entirely different, but he was so invested in this acting that he switch from comedy to serious to goofy to boyish and emotional all in a blink—he was AI afterall—and it was all too much for me to handle.

When we needed a joke, he provided one that had me rolling. When it was time to share bubble gum icecream, he had me wishing for someone to have an icecream with. 

That was how amazing he was.

If you saw Killing Eve then you know Comer can be strange. I have to say it took a while for me to believe that the psychotic killer was actually this lovey-eyed gamer and product designer who fell for her AI and allowed him lock lips.

She nailed her role as Millie and I could feel the longing to come out of the shadow and be seen. 

Thank God she realised who truly loved her.

It's no wonder the movie did so well: over $300 million in box office. Nice work guys.
Look out for voices of the Rock and High Jackman. And also Cap. Yes, Cap.

What I loved most about the movie was the underlying message it held. 

Ready?

Don't ever think you don't have a purpose. No matter what everyone around you says, you matter. You're important. You count. And you can make a difference.

MY TOP 5 MOMENTS
1. The first time the train got him.
2. The kiss at the icecream truck.
3. When Buddy got deleted.
4. The Captain America's shield.
5. When all the NPCs came together.

I do hope my moments didn't spoil it for you.

If it did, yikes, so sorry. But at least you have something to look forward to.

Rating: A solid 9/10

    True story. My nephew just asked me of this movie now 🤣

    The movie was pretty worth the wait. Awesome cast. Dialogue was top notch (it's like my tongue had a baby with the Sun 🤣🤣🤣).

Movie Review; Vampires vs. The Bronx

Cast Coco Jones, Method Man, Chris Reed, Jarden Micheal, The Kid Mero, Gregory Diaz IV, Zoe Saldana, Sarah Gardon. Vampires vs. The Bronx is about a group of kids trying to save their neighbourhood with amateurish vampire techniques—which come in handy. How do kids always have this confidence to face the evil that's new to them? If I as much as see a rat, I'm getting the hell out of that place—but not these kids. They uncover conspiracies and charge head-on. Impressive. They might not be able to stand up to school bullies, but they have what it takes to stand up to vampires and clowns.  The movie had a regular dose of finding one's strength in friendship and solidarity. And the usual community-never-believing-the-kids until the worse has happened or is close. Please, you must not divulge information to everyone. Movie Review: A Madea Homecoming

Madea is back! Hallelujer! After the Madea Family Funeral we thought we had seen the last of this iconic screen character, but 2022 has given us a reason to laugh out loud. Movie Plot Madea's Homecoming surrounds the family getting together for Madea's great grandson's graduation ceremony.
