Movie Review; Princess Switched.

Princess Switch: Switched Again Cast Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio, Ricky Norwood, Nick Sagar, Suanne Braun, Fleischmann, Mia Lloyd, Ben Lamb, Florence Hall, Rose McIver, Lachlan Neiboer. Talk about a sequel! I'm not exaggerating when I say that Princess Switched 2: Switched Again was a blend of romance, deceit, and a proper Christmas cheer. In the first part we saw Stacy, the baker, take a trip that turned her life to royalty. She fell for Prince Edward and they got married to the delight of everyone including her doppelganger, the princess of Montenero, Margaret. Fast forward two years later and that princess is about to become the Queen. But true love seems far as she's having issues with Kelvin. Issues, nah. They broke up.  As much as I would love to rattle on about the storyline, I prefer to summarise. The apperance of Fiona, another looklike was unexpected. What were they thinking? Whatever it was, it was good. Vanessa Hudgens nailed her trio roles superbly an...

Movie Review; Vampires vs. The Bronx

Cast Coco Jones, Method Man, Chris Reed, Jarden Micheal, The Kid Mero, Gregory Diaz IV, Zoe Saldana, Sarah Gardon. Vampires vs. The Bronx is about a group of kids trying to save their neighbourhood with amateurish vampire techniques—which come in handy. How do kids always have this confidence to face the evil that's new to them? If I as much as see a rat, I'm getting the hell out of that place—but not these kids. They uncover conspiracies and charge head-on. Impressive. They might not be able to stand up to school bullies, but they have what it takes to stand up to vampires and clowns.  The movie had a regular dose of finding one's strength in friendship and solidarity. And the usual community-never-believing-the-kids until the worse has happened or is close. Please, you must not divulge information to everyone. Don't take the bait and talk about how you're alone searching for a purpose or have no family around who'll miss you. That's how people...

Movie Review; Hubie Halloween

Cast Adam Sandler, Noah Schnapp, Paris Berelc, Julie Bowen, Shaquille O'neal, Ben Stiller, Lance Lim, Karan Brar. Halloween is unarguably the scariest holiday on the calendar. Every October 31st, children and adults, alike, dress up in horrifying costumes and makeup, go trick and treating, and devour candy. Some litter with toilet paper and throw rotten eggs. Overall, it's creepy fun and makes a good watch—which is why Sandler targeted Hubie Halloween for Halloween. Enough of the talk, down to the movie. Adam Sandler is a funny guy. Honest. He doesn't even have to try, he just is. With his ability to speak in concocted mannerism and take on any role, it's impressive the comedy legacy he has made for himself. So when I saw him in Hubie Halloween , I knew I was going to watch.  Hubie Halloween is a holiday comedy horror movie (if there's any genre like that) about a town that's taught a lesson on humility and bullying. Not what you expected to hear, ...

Movie Review: Holidate

Cast Emma Roberts, Luke Bracey, Jessica Capshaw, Manish Dayal, King Bach, Kristin Chenoweth. Christmas holiday is around the corner, and by around the corner, I mean four to five weeks away. Nevertheless, people around the world have taken to Christmas shopping; getting trees, decorations and date; not a date, calendar. A date, person. Yeah, a date. The Netflix movie, holidate , is a romantic holiday movie about- love.  Spoilers or no spoilers? Let's try no spoilers. The movie stars a man (Luke) and a woman (Emma), traditionally, searching for a non-committal relationship. (Very original). The woman's mother and relatives shun her at every single holiday she spends with them. Talk about a supportive family. No one shuns the guy, but boy does he want out of anything serious. He totally wants a pass on the whole love and mushy feelings and simply wants company. I guess. Imagine if you could have one person you're not tied to, you don't need to call or send a g...

MOVIE REVIEW; JUSTICE LEAGUE

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: APOKOLIPS WAR I didn't know how to deal with this movie. In fact, I still don't. This finale to a long storyline left me with so many whys, what ifs, and a lot of brooding. Cast Matt Ryan, Jerry O'Connel, Taisaa Famiga, Tony Todd, Stuart Allan, Ray Chase, Rosario Dawson, Rain Wilson, Rebecca Romijin, Camilla Ludington, Christopher Gorham Dark Side is one villain that's a proverbial pain in the ass. Even Superman has issues defeating him. A devorer, a conqueror and chaos ate some terms attributed to Dark Side. Justice League Apokolips War was just nerve-wrecking. Favourites fell, some died, some were brainwashed. Yes, the Rotten Tomato ratings was a 100. And some would argue that it's a befitting ending. I was just sad while watching. This doesn't take away the action and fight scenes, even a growing love interest. Well, what can I say. We just have to wait for the next flash point.

MOVIE REVIEW; SCOOB

SCOOB 2020 Adventure, Crime, and a dose of laughter is sure to follow the Mystery Incorporated. Cast Zac Efron, Mark Wahlberg, Gina Rodriguez, Will Forte, Frank Welker, Amanda Seyfried. This story had an underlying message embedded--even the best of friends have disagreements. The bond between Shaggy and Scooby has always been undeniably strong, their eating habits, their show of cowardice and their unusual manner of locating trap doors.  The inclusion of an origin story and the blend with other Hannah Barbara characters brought about a serious-not so serious storyline. Simon Cowell's cameo appearance was unexpected to be honest. Zac Efron as Freddy, no surprise there. The actor has proven that he can fit into any role, be it as a serial killer, a musician, a highschool sweetheart, or even a "green" activist. Will Forte did fairly well as Shaggy, considering the shoes he had to fit. Really happy that Scooby wasn't changed, that would have been a total turn off. Overal...

MOVIE REVIEW; THE WRONG MISSY

THE WRONG MISSY Blind dates are definitely a gamble. You never can tell who you'll run into or what you'll be dealt with. The Wrong Missy is a hilarious movie and was released by Netflix on May 13, 2020. Cast Lauren Laptus, David Spade, Nick Swardson, Gieoff Pierson, Jackie Sandler, Sarah Chalke, Joe Anoia. Lauren Lapkus plays Missy, a socially inept, weird lady who is quite frankly "crazy". Despite being a certified counsellor, a hypnotist, paramedic, and many other things, she still finds it hard to find love. The stunts she pulled in the movie are so bizzare and her laughter- high-pitched. David Spade plays Tim Morris, a successful man who is trying his best to find love and impress his boss. He definitely gets more than he bargained for on this trip and must deal with the consequences. A weekend of fun at the carribean, turns to a mad adventure for both Missy and Tim, as things take a nose-dive. Definitely expected more from other cast members, because it looked l...
