SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

Okay. I absolutely adored this movie. I'm a sucker for games and movies. So when game characters are incorporated into movies so perfectly, I get all giddy. Cast Ben Schwartz,James Madsen, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Lee Majdoub. The redesign was totally worth it, even though it cost more money, it paid off. Spoilers ahead.        I've watched different sonic cartoons and also played the game, but the movie was a hit. A blue alien hedgehog leaves his own planet because people want to use his powers..He comes to Earth-Green hill to be specific and spy's on all the neighbors, particularly the sheriff whom he calls "Donut Lord". But as it is with lending assistance to strangers, trouble always follows.      Lemme start with the voicing for sonic. Ben Schwartz was pretty impressive in his voicing, sounding like a young boy and portraying how their mind works.  Sheriff Tom (Madsen) was cool. Not so serious and not so unserious. His performance was

The Invisible Man 2020

The horror movie genre is a sort after genre. It's ability to instill fear despite being an act is quite commendable.  Cast Elizabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson Cohen,Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid,Harriet Dyer, Micheal Dorman.      The invisible man was a break from the norm of regular horror story. With horror movies and haunting, you would expect the presence of a malevolent spirit, but the case was quite different. It takes a look at the life of an abusive woman who must do what she can to escape her abuser; her husband.       A suicide case turns to a haunting case, as the "spirit" of her husband comes knocking. With the lives of loved ones on the line, she races against time to prove her innocence and sanity.      The main actress Elizabeth Moss who starred as Cecilia Kass  was impeccable in her acting. Her facial expressions were dead on as they accurately depicted what she was going through at different stages. Though the movie leaned on a feminist

TELENOVELAS IN RETROSPECT

Despite our various tribes and culture, there will always be something that links each and everyone of us together. Be it The UEFA Champions League, NBA's, Grammy's, Oscars. In that moment, we are not people of different cultures or tribes, we are one in thoughts. Before Zeeworld became a thing, Mexican telenovelas were already a hit. AIT and Galaxy made it their purpose to unite Nigerians with their novelas. So today, as a form of throwback, we take a look at some of those series that glued people to their seats. Those series that made people dismiss from fellowships early, and led to  neighbors being closer.  11. The Woman Of My Life (1998) La Mujer de mi Vida     A woman is blamed for the death of her husband after the murder weapon was found in her hands (okay, no offence, but if you find your partner dead, kindly weep from afar, don't go touching him or the murder weapon). She definitely goes through the impossible to prove her innocence. There's also t

DOLITTLE

Many of us -most especially the vets would give anything to understand what our beloved pets are saying. To know what every meow and woof signifies. But alas, we are not gifted that way.      But the opposite was the case for Dr John Dolittle who could understand every animal there was -even a dragon- and communicate in their individual languages too.       This  family adventure movie sees Robert Downey Junior(RDJ) take on a different, calmer role than his iconic Iron Man.  Cast Antonio Banderas (King Rassouli), Harry Collett, (Tom Stubbins). Voice over actors involved in the movie were Emma Thompson (Polynesia the parrot), Rami Maleek (Chee Chee, the gorilla), John Cena (Yoshi the bear), Kumail Nanjiani (Plimpton the ostrich), Octavia Spencer (Dab Dab the duck), Tom Holland (Jip the lurcher), Craig Robinson (Kevin the squirrel), Selena Gomez (Betsy the Giraffe), Ralph Fiennes (Barry the Tiger), Marion Cotillard (Tutu the fox)        The story looks at

SPIES IN DISGUISE

Unbird me now! The Spies in Disguise- which is also Will Smith's second animation is a brilliant piece of work. Cast Will Smith (Lance Sterling), Tom Holland (Walter Beckett), Rashida Jones (Marcy Kappel), Ben Mendelsohn (Robotic arm Villain), DJ Khalid (Ears), Reba Mac in tire (Joy Jerkins).       The story centers around a genius kid- Walter who has no social life but a talent for  inventing non-dangerous spy equipment. He feels there is a less violent way to save the World and seeks the help of the world's best Spy- Lance Sterling (Will Smith) in order to achieve this. But we must keep in mind that all change is hard at the beginning, messy at the middle and eventually beautiful at the end.       Okay, enough plot for now. Down to analysis. The flow between the two actors, Will Smith and Tom Holland was apt. Despite not seeing each other over the course of the 2 years which the film was being produced. The voicing from the actors was just so in tune w
